The Hi-Tech Institute of Technology Central Library is the soul of the institution and it acquires, processes, preserves and disseminates information to the user community with the motto of empowering knowledge. College library has its own importance in higher education. It helps in widening the range of knowledge and information to teachers and students. Our college library has tried its level best to provide necessary knowledge material to all the components of the college and looked after the quantitative & qualitative growth in library facilities. The Library and Information Centre consists a Digital Library, Reference Section, Current Awareness Services, Inter Library Loan, News Paper Section, Periodical Section, Book Bank, Reprography Facilities Circulation Section. The library has automated Book Issue and Return with barcode using Delplus software. Vision:

The vision of the Library to support the institution and its stakeholder by providing seamless access to the widest possible spectrum of information resources such as digital, online databases, print and non-print Knowledge Documents relevant to the curricular, informational and innovative research needs of the academic community', means to provide Right Information to the Right Users at the Right Time and in the Right Format.

Mission:

The mission is to provide access to high quality information resources in all forms to the faculty, students and staff in support of teaching, learning, scholarship and research mission of the Institute. To support the faculty for participate in interactive information to exchange within the wider library or educational community.

The objectives of our college library are as below:

  • To helps in all educational and instructional programs of the college.
  • To develops a habit of deep of and advanced studies of subjects beyond the text books of subjects, in students.
  • To enhances the understanding of different subjects or disciplines among the students.
  • To prepares the students as an intelligent aware, informative and enlightened to play the role of a responsible citizen.
  • To assists the research works and lays down the initiative base for research work in students.
  • To informs the teacher with latest up-dates in their respective subject area.

Library Software:

Delplus software used in library. This software is easy to work with and comprises the following modules: Acquisition, Cataloguing, Circulation, OPAC, Administration, Export/Import, Authority Control, Article Indexing, Report Generation, Stock Verification

DELNET:

DELNET has been actively engaged with the compilation of various Union Catalogues of the resources available in member-libraries. It has already created the Union Catalogue of Books, Union List of Current Journals, Union Catalogue of Journals, CD-ROM Database, Database of Indian Specialists, Database of Periodical Articles, Union List of Video Recordings, Urdu Manuscripts' Database, Database of Theses and Dissertations, sample databases of language publications using GIST technology and several other databases.

Book Bank Service:

Rules for "Book Bank Scheme":
  1. Student should writes the name of the books available in "Book Bank Scheme"
  2. If the book is lost, have to pay double amount of Book Price.
  3. Such Books should be returned within five days after theory exam is over otherwise a fine of Rs.5.00 per day per book will be charged.
  4. All the books have to be returned by the person to whom the books have been issued in the beginning.
  5. No change of book will be entertained in the middle of the semester.
  6. Each set is issued for maximum of one semester.
  7. Students have to enclosed attested copies of parent's Income certificate/ Pay slip, Mark list and caste certificate. (Only for Reserved Category Students)
  8. Extra books available in this scheme may be issued to the remaining applicants irrespective of their parent's income and caste, at the discretion of the authority.

Library Rules:

  1. Users must possess their Library / College ID Card while making use of the Library facility and on entering the Library.
  2. Students should enter their name and sign the entry register kept at the entrance before entering the library.
  3. Users are required to handle books and reading material very carefully.
  4. Use of mobile phones inside the Library premises is strictly prohibited.
  5. Eatables (liquid, semi-solid, solid forms) are not allowed inside the reference section.
  6. Readers are instructed not to wear apron or jackets inside the library stock section.
  7. Strict discipline must be maintained in the Library. Indiscipline will lead to disciplinary action and the Library privileges may be withdrawn.
  8. 2 books can be borrowed at a time for a period of 7 days. Borrowed books should be returned on or before the due date.
  9. Users have to return the books within the specified time. If returned beyond due date, they will be fined as follows: a. First week after the due date : Rs. 10/- per day b. For second week after the due date : Rs. 20/- per day
  10. In case of lost book/library card it should be reported immediately in writing to the librarian. 1.5% Amount recovers, if lost the book.
  11. The student will be held responsible for any damage to the borrowed books.
  12. If an issued book is lost by the student, then the same should be replaced with the latest edition.
  13. The "No dues certificate" will be issued only after returning all the borrowed books.

For Teaching & Non-Teaching Staff:

  1. Every teacher will be issued 04 books of her/his subject taught at a time for a semester.
  2. Non-teaching staff will be issued 02 books at a time.
  3. Encyclopaedias, Dictionaries, Year Books, Journals & other reference books/and rare books will not be lent outside the library.
  4. Library books such as novels, general readings should be returned within a week if demanded by others.
  5. Current issues of journals, newspapers are not for home lending.
  6. In case of lost book/library card it should be reported immediately in writing to the librarian. 1.5% Amount recovers, if lost the book
